Welcome to [PR]SplitGive. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.

1. Platform Description

[PR]SplitGive is a donation splitting platform that enables users to create donation pages where funds are automatically distributed to multiple recipients. We facilitate the connection between donors and recipients but do not hold funds ourselves.

2. Geographic Availability

[PR]SplitGive is currently available to users in the United States only. By creating an account, creating a donation page, or connecting as a recipient, you represent that you are located in the United States. We may expand availability to additional countries in the future.

3. Important Disclaimers

[PR]SplitGive is NOT a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are a technology platform that facilitates donations to recipients, some of whom may be registered nonprofits. Tax deductibility of donations depends on the tax status of each individual recipient.

Donations are processed directly through Stripe and transferred to recipient accounts. [PR]SplitGive does not pool, hold, or manage donor funds.

4. User Accounts

To create donation pages or receive funds, you must create an account and provide accurate information. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities under your account.

5. Page Creator Responsibilities

Page creators agree to:

  • Provide accurate information about themselves and recipients
  • Ensure they have permission to add recipients to donation pages
  • Not use the platform for fraudulent or illegal purposes
  • Comply with all applicable laws regarding fundraising

6. Recipient Responsibilities

Recipients who connect their accounts agree to:

  • Provide accurate information, including nonprofit status if applicable
  • Comply with Stripe's terms of service

  • Provide accurate EIN information if claiming nonprofit status

7. Donor Acknowledgments

Donors acknowledge that:

  • Donations are processed through Stripe and subject to their terms
  • Tax deductibility depends on recipient status
  • Donation receipts are provided for record-keeping
  • Refunds are subject to our refund policy

8. Fees

[PR]SplitGive charges a platform fee of 1.5% (minimum $1.00) on each donation. Payment processing fees (Stripe fees) are separate and displayed during checkout. Donors may optionally cover fees.

9. Refunds and Cancellations

Donations are generally non-refundable once processed. In cases of fraud or error, please contact us within 30 days. Refund decisions are made on a case-by-case basis and may require coordination with recipients.

10. Prohibited Activities

Users may not:

  • Create fraudulent donation pages or misrepresent causes
  • Violate any laws or third-party rights

11. Content and Intellectual Property

Users retain ownership of content they upload. By uploading content, you grant us a license to display it on the platform. We may remove content that violates these terms.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may close your account at any time. Termination does not affect obligations related to completed donations.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

The platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service or that the platform will meet all your requirements.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, [PR]SplitGive shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the platform.
